ABOUT
Firestop Solutions LLC encompasses over 40 years of experience in passive fire protection and firestop installation to the commercial construction trades. President Scott Nicholas has spent 10 years at Hilti, the global leader in the firestop products and technical services aspect of passive fire protection and fire containment (firestopping). Since 2016 Scott has been building and growing Firestop Solutions with the help of General Manager Gerry Klinker. Gerry has been in business for himself, also worked in sales for Hilti and worked in the passive fire protection and fires containment business overseeing and managing firestop installation for 28 years.
Scott Nicholas started in construction as an account manager for Hilti in 2006 selling all Hilti products to all commercial construction trades. From there was promoted in 2009 to Hilti Fire Protection Specialist and served in that role through mid-2014 where responsibilities included working to develop the strategy to implement passive fire protection products to Architects, MEP Engineers, Health Care Administration and Facilities, Building Owners and all levels of building inspection including the Joint Commissions’ survey teams. Scott also provided continuing education credits across life safety for Architects, MEP Engineers and the Building Official and Inspection community. As a part of the Fire Protection Specialist role, Scott would also train individual trades on means and methods of installing passive fire protection UL systems. In addition to this, Scott managed Hilti’s Accredited Firestop Specialty Contractor training and credentialing program (HAFSC Program). Scott was also credentialed to provided training through the IFC (International Firestop Council) for 3rd party inspectors of passive fire protection systems. Scott then started Firestop Solutions as a professional passive fire protection systems installer.
General Manager Gerry Klinker has been overseeing and managing firestop installation for 28 years. Gerry owned and operated Firestop Installers from 1995 to 2014 and sold Firestop Installers to Wright Firestopping where he served as General Manager until 2016 at which time he joined up with Scott Nicholas at Firestop Solutions where he is currently General Manager. Gerry is certified by Specified Technologies, 3M and Hilti to install all of their passive fire protection products.
Firestop Solutions provides installation for all Commercial, Multi-family, Healthcare, Institutional, Hotel and High-Rise Condo and Industrial Construction and Renovation. Firestop Solutions is certified to install all the major manufactures products including Hilti, 3M and Specified Technologies.
